Description | New Year's Eve is the happiest time for millions of people. Meanwhile, every year more than 1 000 0000 of Christmas trees are cut down before winter holidays. We launched a unique social campaign “Save the Christmas tree”. Our team began uncompromising battle to defense innocent trees. We created a digital strategy that aimed to spread a WOM on social networks and on our website virubke.net. The campaign started with the promo video creation. Less than in 2 weeks it gained more than 500 000 views. The approach was quiet simple. Anyone who wished to support the campaign had to take a photo with a poster “Save the Christmas tree” and post it on our website or on social networks. For each photo we promised to plant a tree. Each photo means that "I won't buy live Christmas tree this year". The project immediately attracted public attention and media. More than 3000 people joined a community against deforestation, there were hundreds of shares and favorable comments. More than 10,000 people have supported us on the website virubke.net. 50 Russian celebrities were involved in the campaign. Each of them said «No» to inhumane deforestation. One of the main TV channels made a special report about the “Save the Christmas tree” social campaign. As a result we planted 14 000 trees. We are delighted that thousands of Christmas trees were given a life in 2013. Last but not least, social campaign "Save the Christmas Tree" proved that only one click could be enough to save a nature. |
