Description | Kirovograd is a city in the center of Ukraine, some 300 km away from Kyiv, Dnepropetrovsk and Odessa. Its population is over 250,000 inhabitants. The city has long been considered a «capital of Ukrainian choreography». The interest in the city has significantly increased after 2011, when Kirovograd won a first prize at the 1st Ukrainian dance contest «MAIDANce» and and became the official capital of dance in Ukraine. When we asked ourselves – what can serve as a symbol for the city’s identity – the answer was evident. Of course, it was a dance and a move! The brand idea was graphically supported with calligraphy – a brush stroke clearly represents a refined and honed skill. The brush image helped us to convey a sense of dance, its dynamics, disengagement and unpredictability. Color scheme was based on colors of Kirovograd coat of arms. Using a gradient transition, we made the colors more dynamic, lively and modern. We also used additional graphic elements - light and dynamic lines, combining the dynamics of dance and the sense of style. |
