Description | Background: Museum of History of wraps and shawls in Russian province - Pavlovsky Posad town - has a unique collection of wraps and shawls (late XVIII - early XX centuries) from Russia and other countries of Europe: propaganda and historical memorabilia wraps, commemorative wraps of tsarist Russia, old woolen hand printed shawls and silk jacquard weaving, as well as a host of other rare artifacts. However, the museum does not have its own building and is located on the territory of the local Palace of Culture. The museum has not only a recognizable corporate identity, but also elementary signages. As a result only to expert critics and casual tourists knew about its existence. Challenge: To develop a bright and contemporary corporate identity for the museum, to revive interest in the study of the history, and thus to contribute to tourism infrastructure development in the town. Solution: Corporate identity decorative elements are built on fragments of the rarest shawls, which are formed in an endless kaleidoscope, reflecting the wide variety of exhibits. The modern style of historical images used in shawls demonstrates a new look of a museum at exhibition space organization. Thanks to a convenient and flexible grid in which the shawls are placed, the corporate identity may develop constantly, not loosing its recognition. Juicy colors, plenty of texture and pattern of museum visitors are immersed in a world where the shawl is no longer a simple clothing accessory, but becomes an art object, reflecting different historical periods and great events in Russia and other European countries. |
