DescriptionPresident Lincoln said: ‘The ballot paper is stronger than bullets’. Before the regular elections to the Parliament, we asked ourselves the question: what prevents Ukrainian voters to hit right on target, making an informed choice? The answer was disappointing – passivity of younger generation, their frustration and an immense amount of information, which makes it hard to distinguish facts from fiction.
We've created a useful tool to help voters – ‘The rear sight of voter RADA 2012’. Its main task was to help voters not to get confused in the variety of choice and not to vote for candidates and parties, who by definition would not win the elections to the Parliament, and thus never would be able to influence the future of the country.
The new tool provided the most complete and accurate information about the candidates, resulting directly from their tax returns. On the site a voter could see and compare the income, wealth, education, and political affiliation of future deputies to make the most informed choices. And all this – in about 3 minutes!
